Looking for Help on a W or R Build
(Thank you mod for moving this to Gladiator's Arena, sorry for posting in the wrong forum.)
I'm not too much of a noob to GW, pre-ordered and palyed all the beta events but after the game came out never got around to playing again. I've been browsing the forums for awhile now but havn't quite found what i'm looking for. I'm trying to find a build that I will enjoy playing and still be able to solo (for the most part) in PvE, and be non group reliant to do good damage and get some kills PvP. I want my primary class to be either warrior or ranger, and my main source of damage coming from a weapon. I'm capable of playing just about any build, so please don't throw a bunch of w/mo's at me. I don't really care what the second profession is, i'm just looking for as many ideas of "good" builds as I can find, so that I can make a roleplaying character I enjoy to play. Perhaps you weren't around when we decided to shun all 'solo warriors'. This is a team game and is meant to be played with other people.
If you were on my team, I wouldn't give a damn what you achieve individually, so long as you fulfill your role in the team. Hunting for kills on your own isn't what most players on these forums play for, and therefore they will not have given much thought towards it. If you want a soloing tank, go W/Mo and join all the other farmers. Nothing personal. |

You're assuming too much, I never said I wasn't planning on being a group player, I just want to be able to kill by my self. I don't have a guild, so I wouldn't want to make a character that is great in a spec group. This is my first character so I will be leveling him up, and palying in the 4v4 arenas while I do that. Being self sufficient in 4v4 arenas is a good thing.

"A good W/* or R/* build" is really far too vague to give any advice about. Other than basic stuff like "warriors should take Sprint in PVP", anyway.
Why not just start playing a warrior and figure out what works for you? You can change your attributes and skills freely, and change your secondary profession as much as you like after a certain amount of PVE'ing. You don't need to know in advance what build you want. |

Warriors are easy to build but not quite as easy to play as some would think. Most will just use the standard Axer as a template and then build on from there...
Standard Axer W/X Axe Mastery 16 (12+4) Strength 9 (8+1) Secondary Class/Other Attribute ( i.e. Smiting, Air Magic, Curses ) 10 Eviscerate [Elite] Executioner's Strike Swift Chop / Penetrating Blow / Wild Blow Frenzy Sprint Rez Signet Secondary Class Skill Skill of Choice Personally I use this in the Arena and can combat pretty much anything that stops me from hitting. It can kill stuff solo although it's not self-sufficent by any means. Warrior/Necromancer Strength: 12 (10+1) Axe Mastery: 16 (12+4) Curses: 6 Eviscerate [Elite] Executioner's Strike Swift Chop OR Wild Blow Plague Touch OR Disrupting Chop Frenzy Sprint Rend Enchantments Resurrection Signet 1 x Vampiric Axe OR Zealous Axe 1 x Axe It can hit through Stances with "Swift Chop" OR end them with "Wild Blow". It can remove conditions like Blind with "Plague Touch" OR interupt spells with "Disrupting Chop". It attack faster with "Frenzy", gaining faster adrenaline and doing more damage as a result. It has a Speed Buff with "Sprint". It can take off Enchantments with "Rend Enchantments". It can revive a fallen teammate with "Resurrection Signet". That's pretty much an "all-wonder" Arena Warrior. Can a non IWAY W/R build work? With high strength and marksmanship? I'm looking for a build that's not too standard.
